About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Glue - and other things that begin with G

It's the start of a new fortnightly challenge at Use Your Craft Stash, and the theme is anything beginning with G or H. As ever, you need only one thing beginning with G or H, and you need to use your stash!

I decided to have a go with my Gelli plate. I've had it ages and not really used it. In searching for inspiration to use it, I came across using hot glue to make your own masks. So, I dug out my glue guns - I have several - and had a go.

I found it easier with the larger gun, and used that for the circles and rectangles ones, and the little one was used for the more abstract one. It's really easy - just squeeze the glue in whatever pattern you want, onto a silicone mat, and that's it.

I used these paints, as I wanted Green and Grey (for the G's) and I also wanted another colour in there too.

I made a creamy/peachy Gerbera, using the XCut Glorious Gerbera die set.

The sentiment is by Papermania, stamped with Stazon Cloudy Sky, filled in with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink, and then covered with a silvery grey glitter glue.

So, my inspiration for this week has used Green and Grey, my Gelli Plate, my Glue Gun and Glitter Glue. Come and join us - we'd love to see you.

Happy crafting,
Cxxx

To the Happy Couple

A very good friend of mine is today marrying a lovely man and starting a new life together. I made this card for them using a Kanban Love and Marriage.
I used patterned card and paper from my stash to matt and layer with pink card onto the base. The patterned background piece was cut from the pink card using Crafter's Companion Die'sire A6 Daisy Dreams Create a Card die.

The Kanban topper sits on top of that, and the card is finished with lace, a lace bow, and a Hobby House sparkler.

More Edge'ables

Afternoon. Fiona is back on Hochanda at 2pm with more of the pick and mix Die'sire Edge'ables.
On the earlier show, I noticed my box card lurking on the display! For this one I used A3 Centura Pearl double sided Fresh White card for the box itself, then decorated with card from the Red Luxury Card pack, cut with the Beautiful Bouquet Edge'able die set.

Don't forget to tune in to see the amazing deal on these dies - and the cardstock.

Pick and Mix Edge'ables

Morning! Fiona is on at 8am with a great pick and mix of the wonderful Die'sire Edge'ables. This is one of my makes with the Bird Cage Edge'able die.
I used the A3 Centura Pearl for the base of the card, and then added all three card types from the Ice Blue Luxury Card Pack. The sentiment is Die'sire Classiques Only Words - Special Day. The little details of the cut out flowers and corners are created using the smaller emebellshment dies that come with the Bird Cage Edge'able.

Fiona will also be back at 2pm and 6pm - so be sure to tune in to bag a bargain.

Only Words....

Morning! Leann is on now with the gorgeous Die'sire Only Words Edge'ables. Here's a couple of my samples made for the shows today.

The first one is using the Happy Birthday Edge'able with the Red Luxury Card pack. It's a top stepper card, along with papers from the the Love and Romance 6x6 paper pad. The stars, arrows and banners are all from the Diamond Press starter kit.
The next one is made from the Gold Luxury card pack, with the Celebrate in Style Edge'able. The champagne flute is from the Together Forever collection.
And finally, this bendy front card used both of the Edge'ables with the Green Luxury card pack. The papers are from the Verity Rose 6x6 paper pack, and the flowers are cut with the Grand Floral dies from Sara Signature English Country Garden collection.
Lots more inspiration from Leann and the team during the shows today!!

Floral Lace Heart

Hello! Today I have a straightforward easel card, made using Crafter's Companion Die'sire Everyday Create a Card - Floral Lace Heart!

The base is made from Crafter's Companion White Linen card, and the matts and layers are the glitter and matt mirror card from the Silver Luxury Card pack. The red is from Papermill.

I used the Congratulations sentiment Create a Card die for the easel stopper, and decorate with pearls and a ribbon bow.

With Valentine's day coming up, this could easily be adapted to make a great Valentine's card!

Sparkling Flowers

Today's offereing is an 8x8 card that uses a Just Inklined digi called "Open Rose Vase". The sentiment is from Crafter's Inspiration 6, stamped with Onyx Black Versafine.

I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens to colour the image:
Roses: Red Berry, Crystal Clear, Spun Gold
Leaves: Black, Holly Green, Crystal Clear
Vase: Black, Sterling, Crystal Clear

The embossed background was created using an Embossalicious 8x8 folder called Rose Garden.

Birthday Diorama!

Morning. Today I have a very simple and easy Birthday Diorama card. I used the Birthday Garden 5x5 Create a Card from Crafter's Companion

The base card is Centura Pearl Fresh White double sided card, and I used the Teal from the Centura Pearl Darks pack.

It doesn't show particularly well in the photo, but I cut the Birthday Garden again in Silver Glitter card from the Luxury Silver Card Pack, then snipped out the sentiment and overlayed it. The back and side panels are embossed with Sara Signature Contemporary Christmas Elegant Snowfall.

Pop Out Card!

Our lovely Debbie is on now for the last chance with the Create a Card Dies. This is another of my cards - this time using the Floral Lace Heart and Thank You sentiment.

The waste of the sentiment die was used on the front.....

And the actual die cut was in the middle, along with the Lace Heart die again as a pop-out.

I love the combination of the matt black card with the glitter card from the Gold Luxury Card pack.
