It's that day!!

Good morning, and Merry Christmas to you. Today I have the final share of my Christmas makes. This is the card I made for my lovely husband.

I went for a very monochrome theme, with dark grey pearl from my stash combined with Centura Pearl Fresh White, silver satin card and a very old 12x12 Craft Creation backing paper.

The dies are also very old: Sara Signature Traditional Christmas Decorative Bauble and Merry Christmas sentiment; Sara Signature Winter Wonderland Dendritic Crystals. I used small strips of the dark grey for the hanging part of the bauble, some light grey/silver ribbon and a few flat backed pearls.

Circle Easel Cards

I shared some Christmas Pudding cards a few days ago where I used some old circle easel cards. 

Here are three more cards that I used them to create. All of the background papers are from the 2019 Hunkydory Blockbuster magazine, teamed up with card from my stash, and Centura Pearl Snow White Hint of Silver. For all of them, the sentiment is Creative Expressions Festive Collection Deco Sentiments.

This first one uses some 12x12 blue card - possibly Bazzil, and Crafter's Companion Create-a-card Cut In Dies - Sparkling Bauble. These dies are really old - they launched in July 2016, and I remember creating samples for TV using them.

This one has some 6x6 Core'dinations Card, with the Ornate Snowflake Create-a-card Cut In dies.

And the final one uses some Crafter's Companion Linen card with the Shine Bright Create-a-card die set.

Hunkydory - Little Book of Christmas Cuddles

Today, I have a couple of 8x8 cards that have been made with images from the Hunkydory Little Book of Christmas Cuddles. I don't know when this came out, but I think I got it in a Christmas Goody Bag towards the end of 2021.

Because I wanted to use these images on 8x8 cards, I needed something else to add on. So, I ended up using some REALLY old dies. 

For the first card, I used Crafter's Companion Softly Falling 6x6 Create a Card, and Crafter's Companion Snowflake dies. The background paper was in my Christmas box, and I really don't know where I got that from.

For the second card, I used Crafter's Companion Christmas Eve 6x6 Create a Card with a Poinsettia die that came from an old Crafter's Companion Inspiration Magazine. The card was left over from Winter Warmers - Warmest Wishes Topper set.

Crafter's Companion - Botanical Garden Cut & Emboss Folder

Two projects today using the Botanical Garden Cut & Emboss folder from Crafter's Companion. One is a card, and the other a box.

For the card, I inked the folder with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide, and then cut it out from pale green card. The brick effect through the aperture is created using AALL & Create Stencil #38 Cracked Walls 2, and Antique Linen Distress Oxide onto cream card. The flowers are using Elizabeth Craft Designs 1638 Garden Notes Crocus.

For the aperture box, I used Centura Pearl Snow White Hint of Gold card, with Elizabeth Craft Designs 1590 Garden Notes Grecian Windflower.

Lace Butterfly

Today I am sharing my lovely Mum's 80th birthday card. She's not one for fuss and bother, but a special birthday calls for one of my special 8x8 boxed cards.

I have used A3 Fresh White Centura Pearl to create the base card and the box. The patterned paper is Craft Sensations 12x12 Floral and Basics Paper. I bought this from The Range - it's my go to place for cheap but gorgeous 12x12 patterned paper pads.

The butterfly is an old 6x6 Crafter's Companion Create-a-card called Lace Butterfly. It's really pretty - and the wings of the butterfly lift up.

The pretty mirror card is from Chloe's Creative Card 8x8 Mirror Card Pad in Sugared Pastels. It teams up perfectly with the patterned paper.

The lettering is Julie Hickey Designs Sweet Pea Alphabet, and the numbers are from an Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials set called Retro Number Trio. As the name implies, there are 3 different sizes of number dies included.

You can't see it from these pictures, but I always add decoration to the inside of the box. I usually use offcuts left from making the card and box topper. I added a couple of butterflies in there using Trimcraft Butterflies dies.

Say it with flowers!

 It's been over a month since I posted - lots been going on and just didn't get round to it.

Today I am sharing the little flower boxes I made for my colleagues in my teaching bubble, using Crafter's Companion dies and Florist box template.

I have made flowers before - and they are on my blog from early last year - but I tried some new flower dies this time. All of them are from Crafter's Companion Spring Foam Flower collection. I also used my old travel iron along with the CC Petal Distress Tool set. The flower foam is a mix of Foamiroan and CC. 

Because I wanted to put them in the Florist Box (CC template from the same collection), I wanted a solid "stem". I created the flowers in pretty much the same was as last time (see my post from last year) although I didn't bother with ink or with the ball tool. To add a stem, I used Oasis green Hobby Wire, and used hot glue to attach it to the white ends of the stamens that had been pulled through.

I then used Florist tape (I got this from Amazon), to wrap the wire from the bottom, up to the flower.

  

  

I had four flower boxes to make, so used four different dies: Vibrant Dianthus (dark purple), Elegant Ranunculus (lavender), Pretty Peony (yellow) and Wild Poppy (orange). These sets come with 2 or 3 dies for the smaller petals, and with 3 templates for the larger petals. This is OK - but I think I would have been happy to pay more to have the larger dies for speed. The all have foliage dies too, but I feel that they are really only suitable if you are using the smaller petals. You can see from the pictures below that the poppy leaf is fine, but the others barely show (and not at all in the case of the ranunculus). I used several layers of each size for the larger flowers (mostly 3 - but sometimes 2).

  

 

I then created boxes for each, using the Florist Box template and Core'dinations card. I wrapped each one with Baker's twine (this is from Creative Expressions and has been in my stash for a very long time). I lost the piece of paper I wrote all my notes on - but I vaguely recall I used 50" of twine for each. Sounds a lot, so I may be remembering that incorrectly. I used red liner tape to wrap this around the box. 

  

I used an additional piece - this one I recall as being around 17" - to wrap round, and tie in a knot at the front.

I had some leaf and alphabet charms to add on. Unfortunately, the hole in the leaf charm was too small for the twine, so I added some thread, and tied a leaf to each side of the knot.

   

I then threaded the alphabet charm onto one piece of the twine, knotted it on and tied a bow.

  

I used tissue paper to "stuff" into the boxes and then pushed the flowers in. 

 

 

I am really pleased at how these turned out.

The last of the Christmas Cards

These are the final two cards to share from my Christmas makes. They were batch made for my groups of friends, using my lovely new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform.

The first is a Crafter's Companion stamp called Floral Festivities. I stamped it with Crafter's Companion Harmony Waterproof Ink in Pebble, and used the Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle pen to "colour" it in. The base card is Centura Pearl Hint of Silver, and I used some gunmetal grey pearl card from my stash. 

   

I also embossed some plain white card with a very old A4 Crafter's Companion Snowflake folder, to create a layer with texture.

The other card uses the same materials, but the stamp is Papermania - Stockings.

More Christmas Cards

While I love my Hunkydory, here are some of the other Christmas cards from this year's makes.
