About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

A few of the cards for the children!

The first two are Hunkydory "I Dig Diggers".  The number of the first is a Trimcraft Die.

The number on this one is a Crafter's Companion Gemini Cut-In Number, and the embossing folder is Sara Signature Just For Men Checkerplate.

This one is a Hunkydory Pick 'n' Mix called Fun On Safari, with a Trimcraft Number.

This baby card is using an old Kanban Collection.

And one for the Great-Grandparents using Hunkydory Moments and Milestones - Congratulations on Your New Baby, with Crafter's Companion Essentials Word Dies.

For the Ladies

A big dump of projects today, with lots of makes for my female friends and family. As said in previous posts, I predominantly use Hunkydory toppers for these makes.

Firstly, I have two Mother's Day cards - one for my Mum and one for my Mother-In-Law.  This one uses Meadow Hares - Hello Hare, with Spellbinders circle dies.

And the second uses Gardener's Paradise - Rosy Posy with Crafter's Companion 1" Alphabet Dies.

This birthday card is another from the Gardener's Paradise Collection and is called Butterfly Blue. The lettering is a Kinetic Alphabet from Crafter's Companion.

The next two are from a Pick 'n' Mix Sheet called You're the Sweetest.

And the next two are from the Delightful Desserts sheet.

Another from the Meadow Hares collection - this one is called The March Hare.

Am not sure if this one is Kanban or Hunkydory. Either way, it's perfect for a musical friend.

And finally, this is Love Yoga, with Crafter's Companion Inverted Scalloped Dies.

Thank you for popping by.

For the Men

Some of the men's cards made for family this year. All are Hunkydory Toppers.

The first one is from the Pick 'n' Mix selection, called Need for Speed.

The second is Cheers To You - Birthday Beers, with Crafter's Companion Diamond Press Alpha for the letters.

The next one is an "A Life of Leisure" Deco Large called Let Your Dreams Take Flight. The lettering is Crafter's Companion. It's a set that was created for their Kinetic die sets.

Here I have used Cheers To You - Wine With Friends, with the Diamond Press Alpha set.

This one uses Hunkydory Little Book of All Ages, with the Block Alpha set.

And finally, this one is another Pick 'n' Mix called Man Of The Match, with Julie Hickey Designs Sweet Pea Alphabet.

Anniversaries and Special Birthdays

Today's project dump includes anniversary cards and an 18th Birthday card. As I said in my last post, I use predominantly Hunkydory toppers for friends and family cards.

The first one uses Hunkydory Violet Delights Afternoon Tea. The decorative die is Jeanine's Art Happy Birds - The Circle of Flowers.

The second uses Bear Hugs - From the Heart.

This is my anniversary card for my husband which uses Birthday Wishes - Let's Celebrate.

This last one isn't Hunkydory. It's from a very old Kanban collection called Love and Marriage.

And then there was an 18th in the family. This uses Hunkydory's Little Book of All Ages for the really pretty topper, with Crafter's Companion Aurora 6x6 Create-a-Card die.

And special occasions need special boxed cards. For the inside I used Crafter's Companion Stitched Circle dies, and Sara Signature Together Forever Champagne Flute.

The numbers are Crafter's Copmanion 3" Numbers, and the letters are Julie Hickey Designs Sweet Pea Alphabet.

Hunkydory - Festive Rose

A couple of cards from Hunkydory's Festive Floral Festive Rose collection - the Season's Greetings sheet. I think this came in a Christmas Goody Box, as I don't have any more of the collection.

The first one is 6x6 using the printed card stock. I love that it is totally matt.

The second one is a 7x7 card using the printed card as a mat.

Hunkydory - A Sparkling Season

It's Christmas Eve!! And that means, you'll be glad to hear, that I am nearly done with sharing my Christmas cards. This is a 2020 Hunkydory set - from the Christmas Sparkle Collection. The topper set is called A Sparkling Season.  Don't remember ordering this - so possibly was in one of those lucky dip boxes.

That said, I love the colours - the dark purples and teals. They don't come across so well on the pics but they are so lovely.

Both cards use the A4 printed cardstock cut down to 6x6, along with the circular toppers. I do like to split the layers on these.

Hunkydory - Little Book of Christmas Cuddles

Today, I have a couple of 8x8 cards that have been made with images from the Hunkydory Little Book of Christmas Cuddles. I don't know when this came out, but I think I got it in a Christmas Goody Bag towards the end of 2021.

Because I wanted to use these images on 8x8 cards, I needed something else to add on. So, I ended up using some REALLY old dies.

For the first card, I used Crafter's Companion Softly Falling 6x6 Create a Card, and Crafter's Companion Snowflake dies. The background paper was in my Christmas box, and I really don't know where I got that from.

For the second card, I used Crafter's Companion Christmas Eve 6x6 Create a Card with a Poinsettia die that came from an old Crafter's Companion Inspiration Magazine. The card was left over from Winter Warmers - Warmest Wishes Topper set.

Hunkydory - Festive Wishes

Today's two cards are made from one of the 2019 Hunkdory Member's Free Gifts. It was called A Beary Merry Christmas, and these toppers are from the Festive Wishes topper sheet, along with the matching cardstock.

I cut the printed card down to 6" in height, and then scored it in half. Unfortunately, the image ended up on the back of the card - something I find happens quite often, and it is one of the things I don't like about Hunkydory printed card.

Still, the fronts of both are still lovely, and make gorgeous cards. And I have to say that I absolutely love the colour scheme of this set.

Hunkydory - Christmas Sparkle

Continuing with the theme of using up what I have, I decided to make most of the rest of my cards by using up what is left of my Hunkydory stash.

I have bought many a Hunkydory Blockbuster in my time, as I love how quickly the cards come together with the matching cardstock. But I had so much stuff, that I haven't purchased one since 2019, and I have been using this and remnants from others.

I am starting with the 2019 Christmas In Style - Christmas Sparkle. Have to admit that the photos have not come out brilliantly, but they are such beautiful colours - particularly with the foiling.

The first card uses the matching card for the base and was cut to make a 6x6.

For the other two cards, I have cut up the cardstock to mat and layer onto white base cards - one DL, and the other 6x6.

The Final Furlong

A few quick blogs over the next few days, catching up on sharing some personal family and friend cards - so no step-by-steps or videos.

The first is this one for my brother-in-law.

This uses Hunkydory's Sports Designer Decoupage - The Final Furlong. Love the colours of this topper/card set, and just added to it with a bit of gold mirror card embossed with Crafter's Companion
Textures - 8x8 Distress folder, and some Core'dinations card. Letters are cut with my Diamond Press Block Alpha.

Thanks for popping by.

Happy crafting!!
