About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

More Heavenly Hummingbirds

This one was for my sister - and another one made with the Heavenly Hummingbirds from Hunkydory's In Full Plume collection.

Just a little bit of Core'dinations and silver mirror cards was all that was needed for this one. Along with stonking big bow!!

Happy crafting, and may I wish you all a much better 2021 - we all deserve it!

Mum's Birthday

For my Mum's birthday, I used this topper from a very old collection I think I bought from Create and Craft.

It's a very pretty topper, with equally gorgeous cardstock. If memory serves me right, the old Kanban were the manufacturers of this.

I added a bit of purple and blue Core'dinations card, along with some silver mirror card, all finished off with a bow and some flat-backed pearls.

Happy crafting,

Heavenly Hummingbirds

This card was for my niece, using Hunkydory's In Full Plume "Heavenly Hummingbirds".

The co-ordinating patterned card is from the set, and I used some silver mirror card, and teal card from Papermill. The letters are cut with the alphabet set from Crafter's Companion Kinetic Card collection.

Happy crafting,

The last of the Christmas Cards

These are the final two cards to share from my Christmas makes. They were batch made for my groups of friends, using my lovely new Tim Holtz Stamping Platform.

The first is a Crafter's Companion stamp called Floral Festivities. I stamped it with Crafter's Companion Harmony Waterproof Ink in Pebble, and used the Spectrum Noir Crystal Clear Sparkle pen to "colour" it in. The base card is Centura Pearl Hint of Silver, and I used some gunmetal grey pearl card from my stash.

I also embossed some plain white card with a very old A4 Crafter's Companion Snowflake folder, to create a layer with texture.

The other card uses the same materials, but the stamp is Papermania - Stockings.

I hope that all of you have a peaceful day, however you are spending it.
Happy Christmas,
Cxxx

More Christmas Cards

While I love my Hunkydory, here are some of the other Christmas cards from this year's makes.

Firstly, this little bunch were using toppers from Hobby House.

And this lot were with an old Create and Craft set.

And all of these were with various Crafter's Companion goodies - some of which I have posted earlier in the year.

Happy crafting - and Happy Christmas.

Break of Dawn

This was an anniversary card for my in-laws, using an ancient Kanban topper called (I think) Break of Dawn. It was a lovely collection with beautiful watercolours of sunrises.

I love the pastel colours of this one, and have teamed it with some blue Kanban patterned card, and I think the pink might be Craftwork Cards (or Hunkydory).

The letters are cut using Crafter's Companion Essentials Alphabet dies.

Happy crafting,

The Perfect Blend

Have a few remaining family birthday cards that I haven't shared, and hopefully I can get them all shared before the end of the year - which will be a first!

This one was for one of my stepdaughters, and is using Hunkydory Pick 'n' Mix "The Perfect Blend".

I used a cream scalloped card base from my stash, with some foiled Kanban card, with came with a set that was all about coffee and cake, as I recall (it's that old). I also used a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Shattered Core'dinations card too.

The letters are cut using an alphabet set that was part of an old Crafter's Companion Kinetic Card die collection.

Happy crafting,
Cxxx
