About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Rocking Robin!

It's week 2 of our Q and R challenge over at Use Your Craft Stash. This is my "R" card. I have a Red Rocker card with Robins from Crafter's Companion "Romany Christmas" CD, with ribbon!

I started by scoring and folding a piece of A4 card in half. I then cut it down to 6 3/8" along the folded edge. To make the curve, I used a Spellbinders Grand Oval die to draw on the shape, and then cut it using scissors. This allows the card to rock.

The topper is from the CD, and I printed it a couple of times so I could layer the robins and the heart. This was mounted onto red and gold card and paper. I used the same card and paper to cut ovals and scalloped ovals to sit under the topper, and in the curved part at the bottom.

Happy crafting!
