About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Day 2 of the Crafty Image a Day!!

Well, I've made it to day 2. As I mentioned yesterday, in order to be able to keep this up for a year, I am going to need to use photos which will include things other than just competed projects - hence the "Crafty Images" title!

On their FB page today, Crafter's Companion is looking for you to share images of craft related presents you had for Christmas, so I thought this would be ideal for my 2nd image.
This is the gorgeous vintage-style, cantilever sewing box my stepdaughter gave me for Christmas. I really want to do more sewing this year, and being organised always helps me to achieve more! So this is a great start!! All the little things in the top sections were already there - making it look really pretty!!
I've already started adding some of my haberdashery items and notions - and the little lids open too for more space! It looks right at home with all my other crafting stash!!

In taking these photos, I realised that I don't have a sheet of white card large enough for taking pictures of bigger items. Will have to try to sort that out!! But, I did use another of my crafty presents when taking these photos - a fab daylight floor lamp that I can move and angle over my workspace!! Brilliant for front lighting the sewing box today!!

Well, will be back tomorrow for Day 3.  Thanks for popping in to have a look!! If you are not already a follower of my blog, then please feel free to do so. You can follow by email, bloglovin or google - all three can be accessed by the icons on the right hand side of the blog. Alternately, you can follow me on Facebook where I will also be showing my daily images - my page is called Papercraft By Carole. I will also be setting up a Pinterest board on my existing page (Papercraft By Carole) called 2016 A Crafty Image A Day, and tweeting each image on @pcbcarole.
