About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

New Fancy Edge'ables

Afternoon!! Have popped on to share a peek at the new Fancy Edge'ables that are launching on Hochanda tonight. They are 7.5" long - and the designs are gorgoeous!
This a a bow fronted card made using the Marseille design with the fabulous peacocks. The base card is Centura Pearl Snow White Hint of Silver, and the patterned card is from the Downton Abbey 12x12 pad. I added more peacocks using the Kimono peacock die, and added a Die'sire Essentials Only Words sentiment.

It's the first time I've made a bow fronted card - and I rather like it!

  1. That is beautiful Carole. Could I ask if you have the sizes etc you used for the base card.

    1. Hi Pamela - sorry for the delay in replying. Hope this all makes sense. The back panel is a piece of 8x8 Centura Pearl with the Edge'able cut in the centre - it was backed with a piece of brown card.

The middle panel is 8.5" wide - and 6 " deep. This allows for a 3/4" tab on the left hand side to attach to the rear of the back panel, and 1/4" for the small tab on the right hand side to insert into a slit made 3/4" from the right hand side in the back panel.

The front panel is 8.75" wide and 4" deep. This allows for a 3/4" tab on the right hand side to attach to the rear of the card, and 1/4" for the small tab on the left hand side to insert into a slit made 1.5 inches in on the middle panel.
      Take care,
