About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

For a friend!

Every year I make my some of my closest friends a matching gift set for their birthday. This is one of the one's from this year - a mug mat, a framed picture and a card.
The image is from a lovely little shop I found on Etsy called Graphicals. They have loads of gorgeous vintage images, which can be used in items you sell as well as for personal use.
For the mug mat, I printed the image onto printable cotton. It's the first time I have tried this - and I really love the effect. It looks totally different to using an iron on transfer - and goes through the sewing machine with no issue. All the other fabrics are from my stash - and I edged it all with bias binding.
I used the same image in a shop bought frame - with a quote I found on the Internet.
And the card is 6x6 with a combination of coloured card from my stash, and papers from Craftwork cards Vintage Flora paper postcards set.

I would like to enter this into

Be back soon.
