About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Crafty Cardmakers & More - #141 - For a Man or Boy

Evening! It's challenge time over at Crafty Cardmakers & More. This fortnight, Vania is hosting, and would like to see your cards for a man or a boy. Here in the UK, Father's Day falls right in the middle of the next fortnight, so I am sure many of you will already be working on cards suitable for this challenge. This will be the first year since I have been crafting that I will not be making a card for my Dad. He passed away earlier this year, and I will be spending part of the day running Race for Life in his memory.

So instead, I have a card that I made for my stepson to share with you. He is car mad, so I chose this Kanban topper. I wanted to keep the colours really simple so stayed with the black and grey tones from the topper
In my stash I had some matt silver card, and textured silver paper, both of which I used with Crafter's Companion Matt Black Card. I embossed the silver card with my Darice Diamond Plate folder - and left the paper as it was. The letters are cut with Die'sire 1" Alphabet and the buttons are from my stash.

A very unfussy card, but definitely a masculine card.
