About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Crafty Cardmakers & More - Challenge 139 - Shaped Cards

Afternoon! It's time for another challenge at Crafty Cardmakers & More! This fortnight our lovely host Kim is looking for shaped card -  plain squares and rectangles DO NOT count.

I've recently been having a little splurge on some new crafting goodies, so in penance, I thought I should attempt to use up some of my old stuff. I had a rummage and came up with this little lot to use as inspiration.
I then took a Craftwork Cards Scalloped Circle Easel Card for my base. I didn't want the flat part to be rectangular, so cut the edge with a large Spellbinders scalloped circle die.

I then used the same method of cutting off the edge of the plate to create the mats and layers for the flat part of the card.
The leaves (that I cut for another project - and never used) are Die'sire Leaf 1. The cirular mats are cut with Spellbinders circle and scalloped circles dies. And the sentiment is from the free stamp set that came with Crafter's Companion's Crafter's Inspiration 6 magazine. The ribbon is a scrap piece from my stash.

Now it's over to you - check out the inspiration from the rest of the design team at Crafty Cardmakers & More. Don't forget - no plain squares or rectangles.

I would like to enter this into:
