About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Crafty Cardmakers & More #127 - A Touch of Charm

Afternoon. It's Challenge time over at Crafty Cardmakers and More. This time the lovely Josephine is hosting and she has chosen 'A Touch of Charm' - so we would like to see a charm added to your project somewhere.

I have a few charms in my stash - but don't use them that often, so decided to have a rummage to see what I could find. In amongst them all were these two with clover leaves on them. Now, I know they are not 4-leaved clover - but still I thought they would make a lovely addition to a Good Luck card.

I've been perusing Pinterest on and off - and am really liking the cards making use of banners and pennants. The layout I have used is from a card I found here via Pinterest.
I started with an A4 piece of dark green card, and cut an 11 1/2 cm strip lengthways. I then scored it in half to make a tent fold card. The papers are all offcuts from my scraps box. I think that they are all Papermania - possibly from a Capsule collection. The sentiment is from an old die cut sheet - and because it was blue rather than green, I brought blue into the overall colour scheme - with the largest mat, the scalloped circle and one of the buttons. The charms are attached by lengths of thin white ribbon.

Quite a simple layout - but really easy to make - and effective!!
Make sure you check out the rest of the Design Team's inspiration over on the blog - and then get busy crafting.

I would like to enter this into the following:
