About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Something cheerful to end the day!

Am feeling a little 'ho hum' this evening - think it is probably the prospect of returning to work tomorrow. So, in order to cheer myself up, I have decided to blog one of the gorgeous cards I made when I attended the Craftwork Cards workshop at Pickwell Farm a few weeks ago.
This is a very simple layout when you think about it - but it is so effective. A piece of the background paper was stuck onto the 6x6 card, and four smaller pieces were mounted onto four white squares. The papers are from the Kitsch collection - and are just so cheerful!!
Onto each of the four squares, we mounted four white scalloped circles, and four circles of the patterned paper. The bows on two of the circles are also from the Kitsch collection - and then we stuck circle sentiments onto the other two circles.

I really like this card - both for it's cheerful colours - and also the simple and effective layout!! Will probably use it on other cards in the not too distant future.

Well, I suppose I better head off to bed to get a good night's sleep before work tomorrow!

Will be back again soon!!
