About Me

My photo
I'm a retired primary school teacher, who started paper crafting in 2008, when I had a fancy to make my own Christmas cards. Since then, I have tried all sorts of techniques and styles - and I kind of like them all. I have been lucky enough to be on blog teams and large design teams and to do a bit of freelance demonstrating - and I love the challenge of working with different products. My crafting style is very varied - from junk journaling and art journaling, bookbinding and journal making, to quilting and patchwork - and of course I still make cards. This variety keeps me interested - and my crafty stash growing!! I'm always seeking inspiration for new projects.

Camden Town Sneaky Peak 3!!

Just got back from parkrun! First time in four weeks due to having not been well. Nowhere near my PB - but a decent time nonetheless. This time last year I couldn't have run anywhere near that time in full health - so things are improving!!

And I have just been playing around and added the Bloglovin widget to the side bar -so now you can follow me that way too. Can I say a HUGE welcome to the 15 followers who have already signed up there!! I'm so sorry I haven't said 'hello' before, but having only just found Bloglovin, I didn't know you were there. It's an incredible boost for me knowing that you are out there - so thank you for your support!!

Anyway, before I head back out into the garden, it's time for another sneaky peak at the great Camden Town Male CD, that will be launching alongside the Female CD on Create and Craft on Thursday 17th April at 8am with Dawn Wheeler.

This is a 'quilted' card (I use the term loosely) - the first time I have attempted this but wanted to try to find different ways to use the fantastic Fabric Companions from the CD.
I printed this gorgeous image onto a Ink Jet Iron On Transfer, and ironed it onto plain white cotton. I then attached some brown gingham around the edges, before 'quilting' it onto some wadding (I use the term lightly as I just ran a couple of zig zag stitch lines down from top to bottom). I made an aperture 'case' for the card, and attached the fabric to it with Collall Textile glue.
This was then stuck onto a roughly 8x8 tent fold base - no real reason why I did a tent-fold other than it was just something different.
The front was decorated with two strips cut from one of the co-ordinating papers. I printed it onto Centura Pearl Hint of Gold, and cut with Die'sire Lace Border 4. The little watering cans are from the Embellishment sheet.
I decorated the inside of the card with the same co-ordinating paper - but this time printed onto Satin Finish Paper. I does look like I creased the paper slightly before I stuck it down - but it's just the printed effect on the paper. I embossed some of the brown card with Embossalicious A4 Dottie folder, used a flowerpot image from the Embellishment sheet. The message is from the Verse Writer on the CD.

Back tomorrow!!!
